About Glenn Wiltgen, Your CFO

Glenn has over 25 years of diversified experience as a financial professional for small to mid-size companies. His broad experience includes leading growth companies as a CFO in industry, as well as a CPA in public practice. Glenn’s specific industry experience includes manufacturing, wholesale distribution, retail and professional service firms.

Glenn’s versatile background provides extensive experience to clients in financial administration, corporate accounting and operations management. His skills include cash management, banking, credit management, financial analysis, merger & acquisitions, strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, capital investments, process re-engineering, cost accounting, risk management, information technology and human resources.

He has a track record for growing the bottom line and increasing company value by building solid accounting and operational infrastructure. Glenn has been very successful in developing close relationships with CEO’s and owners, who rely upon him for business advice and support.

Prior to starting his CFO practice, Glenn held several senior level financial positions. He was a divisional controller responsible for a manufacturer of pharmaceuticals, within a publicly-owned company. He was an integral member of the top management team that grew the company organically from $20 to $60 million. Glenn developed the entire finance & IT infrastructure from the “ground floor up”. He established cash management systems, the annual budgeting process, product costing methodology and credit management process. He secured corporate funds for over $70 million in capital investments to fund the company’s aggressive growth. Glenn achieved a record of incurring “zero” bad debts in credit management over a 10-year span, and consistently maintained the aging of receivables to less than 40 days. He developed processes and procedures that reduced the number of days to prepare financial statements from 20 to 5 days. Glenn designed and launched the company’s activity-based cost accounting system.

Glenn was a CFO at Genova Technologies and Chief Financial Officer of Apache Hose & Belting, Cedar Rapids, IA. Previously Glenn held progressive management positions with leading companies including: Cambrex Pharmaceuticals, Salsbury Chemicals, Woodharbor Doors & Cabinetry, McGladrey & Pullen LLP, all located in Iowa.

Glenn started his career as a CPA for McGladrey & Pullen, LLP, where he advanced to the level of General Service Audit Manager. He was responsible for a number of client audit and tax engagements. Glenn accepted his first CFO position for a client that was a closely-held family business. He was instrumental in growing the company from $7 million to $30 million, which led to the sale of the family business to a Fortune 250 company.

Glenn graduated from the University of Northern Iowa. He is a member of the Iowa Society of Certified Public Accountants and American Instituite of Certified Public Accountants.
